Could we be getting rid of http?
Not quite content with pretty much owning half of the Internet, Google has decided that everyone now needs to make the next step for the Internet to progress.
HTTP is the protocol used thoughout the Internet to transfer pages and data. It was a great invention for its time, but its getting on a bit now (over 20 years old!). Needless to say, in the technology industry, this is possivelt antient.
So Google has decided it would quite like everyone to move over to SPDY, a much newer and more efficient protocol. I think its a great idea, but can you imagine a url with then http:// in fornt of it?
